Are you a seasoned, sous chef, line cook, prep cook, or caterer itching to chart a new course in your culinary career? The Merchant is looking for a skilled and passionate food adventurer to take the helm of our one-of-a-kind 1920s trolley-turned-food truck, the S.S. Minnow. You may already know it as Long Beach’s beloved Chili Trolley, but now it’s gearing up for a whole new voyage, and we want YOU to steer it!
$18-$25 /hr
Job Requirements
Kitchen Experience (2 years minimum)
Assistance in menu development
Working knowledge of seasonal menu/ingredients
Ensure food quality and presentation
A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
High standard of cleanliness
Ability to set up and break down station quickly and efficiently
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods of time (minimum 4 hours)
